It's been that kind of life lately. Busy with lots of offline stuff, from cleaning -- not for Pesach, just for cleanliness -- to coping with kids, and work.

That, and the old chestnut my parents -- and probably yours -- taught are the reasons I've not updated recently. ("Chestnut" = If you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything) But here's what I have nothing nice to say stuff about. )

One quick political toon, because it's so accurate. By the writer of Ozy and Millie, check this toon</> out.

Apparently Robert Rodriguez' having resigned from the Directors' Guild (DGA) has thrown a serious wrench into the works at Paramount with regard to A Princess of Mars. He did it to be able to co-direct SIn City with Frank Miller and, apparently, Quentin Tarantino, which the DGA would not approve. (A more extensive version of the story is apparently here, requiring a subscription.) And Paramount is required to employ only Guild directors.

This bodes not well for John Carter; he has surely overcome greater obstacles in the past, but this one is a toughie.

It'll be interesting to see who takes over the project, though. Please, all the gods there ever were -- now parking cars and pumping gas, I know, but I pray thee anyway -- let it NOT be Paul Verhoeven. Please. Pretty please, with ghodsnacks on top...
