There are rumors on the internets that Six Apart will soon buy LiveJournal. Details as they come.

It could be lots worse. There are lots of good things about Movable Type that might be brought to LJ. But, on the other hand, I wonder what this is going to do to the community nature of LJ; more than any similar service, it seems to me that LJ is for journalers who create and maintain friendships and communities above the actual journals.
In either event, we shall see.

Six Apart, the parent company behind hosted blogging service TypePad, and Moveable Type is about to acquire Live Journal, for an undisclosed amount. The deal is a mix of stock and cash, and could be announced sometime later this month...
