[Politics] A simple question
Nov. 9th, 2005 01:21 amIt's late, I'm sick and cranky, and then I read this CNN article:
One observation: the Dems are asking for truth. The Republicans are answering with "engagement."
One question: Aside from the fact that the truth is likely to show that the Republicans are lying crooks who twisted the truth to profit while killing over 2,000 US troops (not to mention injuries to at least twice that number, hundreds of thousands of lives disrupted -- and that's just US military!), why are they so reluctant to provide the truth?
Senior administration officials are working on what they call a
"campaign-style" strategy to respond to stepped-up Democratic criticism
that the Bush administration twisted intelligence in making the case
for war in Iraq.
"You're going to see heavy and direct
engagement from this administration," according to a senior
administration official, who said there would be "an increased presence
and willingness to be more aggressive in responding to Democrats."
