Midi is Home
Jan. 11th, 2006 01:08 pmMidi (aka MidLife Crisis, aka the nice red car that went missing a week ago) is now recovered, fixed, and home.
One rebuilt steering column (and incidental replacement of a right flasher, which was a pre-theft issue) later, I have paid for her, brought her home, and parked her. Yes, on the street.
My one concern was that the driver's side door, which had been the point of entry, appeared on initial recovery to not be closing fully, and thus inviting a retheft. When I went to pick her up today, the garage had either done some work or else I was mistaken; the lip of the driver's door was flush with the body. Sure, there's a dent in the door -- but that's not a big deal. The major problem was ensuring that there was no invitation to open the door again, and there's not.
I like my garage. They give an honest dollar of work. May all your garages and mechanics be as honest, as you and I are, ourselves.
