Perhaps the most harmful, and ripest for abuse, words in the English language when used in non-life-threatening situations: "For your own good"

[Note: I'm reading this discussion of David Neiwert's excellent book on the US internment of Japanese persons in World War II, Strawberry Days, and on comes Flowers are Red. DAMN all people who do evil and claim it's for their victim's own good!]

Here I am, listening to a podcast (sorry, no direct link :-( ) of Talk About Service (because it, in turn, was mentioned at Making Light). This particular podcast is an interview with Jenna Glatzer, who runs Absolute Write.

At 4:45 of the interview, she mentions that in the course of making herself into a writer, she found (and, she implies, was active at) Inkspot, which she notes sadly, is no more.

The good we do lives on!
