The Song Lyrics Meme Comes Around Again on the Guitar

Having recently upgraded the laptop (aka the World's Largest iPod here at work) with an 80GB hard drive, I have space to load a few albums. I've got about 6GB of music on it so far, and decided it was time to play the game again. It's a good time for it, as I have nothing too outre, nothing too obscure, loaded.

You know the rules: tell me the song name and its composer (and if you want to guess which performer I was actually listening to, more power to you! :-) Googling is cheating, as always; as always, the answers will be posted in a few days if you haven't managed to clear out the list. Oh, and if you've written any of these, maybe you can just kind of nod in recognition and let someone else guess them? (If you really need a gimme, they're there for you.)
