Travelin' In the Rain
Mar. 8th, 2008 06:35 pmHuge-ass storms are ripping the eastern half of the US. Tornados down south; snow nose-deep in Ohio; 1-3 inches of rain by the time we're done here in NYC. So what did I do today?
Yep. Went driving to the northern wilds of Manhattan to purchase a laptop.
Okay, so it was a really inexpensive ($100) laptop, and a major upgrade (P4/2.66 or 2.80, have to find out, vs P3/600) for me. (Thanks, Craigslist!)
( More information back here )
Came home in more of the same, and stopped by Best Buy to get a brand new can of compressed air and a wireless card for A's laptop. Avoided the Harlem River Drive (per longstanding good advice from my MiL, who says to avoid roads with "River", "Brook", "Stream" or similar when it's raining four-legged beasts), and it took longer, but I had a lovely view of Central Park as I rode down its east side. I need an autoshooting camera mounted in my windshield...
Tired now; time to do some cleaning and maybe get to bed early in anticipation of the clock running only 23 hours tomorrow.
