Back in the Ancient Times (the 1970s, for those who must be accurate), history came alive again for elementary and junior high school students (though the latter were often afraid to admit it). For decades, the subject had been taught as names and dates to memorize. Then along came Saturday morning interstitials on ABC, and the world was suddenly quite different. (For one thing, when tested on certain subjects, the entire class could be seen silently singing to themselves.) (Yes, I know there's a slight error. It's how we learned it, okay?)

Here's hoping you all have a spectacular, safe, and wonderful holiday, if in the US or celebrating with us; to the rest of you, particularly in the UK, take heart in that your currrency, for the most part, is now worth more than ours. (So come here while it's cheap, and take home YOUR piece of our Stuff! :-)

Because I suck, I didn't see this until just now. (Still 26 minutes to go on Independence Day, EDT!) Well worth the post, though:
