redaxe: (Self Portrait)
Both for Hurricane Ike, and all those in its way (and those who've wisely gotten out) and for myself, this song won't leave me alone.

Drink up, dreamers, you're running dry )

I can't find a description of his condition when released; however, I am given to understand that the story put out by the McCain camp is that John McPOW was in poor shape when he got back from his stint without seven kitchen tables. (Documentation would be good, either way. I'd be willing to acknowledge that the story of McCain's poor health isn't being spread by him, if there's such proof. I do strongly suspect it's being spread by his supporters, as it plays into his story. Proof there would be good, too.)

It appears that video was released yesterday that contradicts this theory; it apparently shows McCain being repatriated, walking off the bus, and even raising his arms twice in salute (contrary to reports that he couldn't raise them at all).

I say "it appears" because when I went to the story with an embed of the video (via), the video does not play and instead tells me, in its polite YouTube way, that it's no longer available.

So how do I know about the details I described? See these comments at the rawstory.com link:

[T]he pictures he shows on his website, and in the other "I was a POW porn" he has shown, show him on a stretcher all bandaged up.

This shows that while he was quite skinny, he appeared to be quite able to walk on his own when he was repatriated.

We are also being told that McCain cannot lift his arms above his shoulders. However,in this video clip,he clearly gives two salutes in which he raises his hand to his forehead.

He appears to definitely not need crutches. We have all seen in his famous photograph that he does have them when he meets Nixon upon arrival in the US. He does exhibit a noticeable limp.

It's a shame the video -- posted September 11 -- is down today, September 12. The takedown makes me wonder who has something to hide, and what this video might say to folks otherwise bamboozled by the distortions (at best) of the truth that are being told.
