Nov. 5th, 2008 07:45 amCongratulations to Messrs. Obama and Biden, and their organization. History is yours!
Congratulations also to the new Senators and Congresscritters; many of the bad ones got kicked.
Also, congratulations to the NY State Senate, now controlled by Democrats. It gives me hope, where the apparent success of Prop Hate in California and its odious cousins in Florida and Arizona fill me with ire. (The Assembly here passed a same-sex marriage bill and the Governor has said he'd be willing to sign one; the prior Senate never took it up with the Republicans in charge.)
The view from my office includes windows overlooking some of Times Square, down 43rd Street (though obstructed by 4 Times Square, also known as the Baxter Building -- or should be, and I'll show you why when I get a decent camera). The throngs were joyous and plentiful; I'm glad I wasn't trying to drive through there.
The easy part (believe it or not) is done. There's hard work ahead, on which more -- much more -- later today.
For now, huzzah!
