Carl Pohlad, longtime owner of Major League Baseball's Minnesota Twins, has died.

Pohlad was worth somewhere between $3 billion and $4 billion, yet was well known for not spending large amounts of money on the Twins' payroll. Despite that, his teams consistently contended, and won two World Series titles during his tenure. It will be interesting to see what now happens to the Twins, in terms of management, payroll, etc.

It sounds like Pohlad was a good man, with integrity and compassion, in general. Requiescat.
