redaxe: (Twisty little LJ entries)
Just seen via my friendsfriends list: DisConnect for Greasemonkey, a script that will disable LJ's comment-box linkery to Facebook and Twitter. It is, however, Javascript, and requires Greasemonkey, both of which bother some folks. However, it may be the best option. (I have not yet installed Greasemonkey, so haven't tested it. Caveat emptor, even for freeware.)

1. The script I mentioned earlier does NOT affect visitors to your LJ; it only turns off buttons for the installed user.

2. It probably should go without saying, but just in case: Please do not repost comments to this journal over to FB or Twitter. Particularly please don't do it for comments to locked posts; since my default is public, if I lock a post, you can be sure there's a reason. Thank you all.

3. I have staked out this username at Dreamwidth. Not planning on using it much yet, but if LJ doesn't get its act together, there I shall go. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] filkerdave for the invite.
