Jan. 5th, 2011 05:04 pmCongratulations to Roberto Alomar and Bert Blyleven on their election to the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame. Boo to the BBWAA for failing to elect Barry Larkin (62.1% of total votes, 75% needed) and especially his contemporary and comparable, Alan Trammell. (Boos, too, for having failed previously to provide enough votes to Trammell's double-play partner, Lou Whitaker, to remain on the ballot this year.)
Also, Tim Raines at less than 50% is a disgrace. Second-best leadoff man EVER, and he's struggling to be recognized. Remind me why the power of election lies with the BBWAA; do those guys ever WATCH the game?
