Today's author is Terry Pratchett; in Monstrous Regiment, he has this statement with which I both agree completely and utterly disagree with, to the point of not knowing whether to shout "Yes!" or "No!" (in fact, I settled for laughing long and loud):
"Folk singers should be shot."
(Also, just because I feel like and because i've been reminded of it several times this week, if you've never seen it -- or even if you have -- go read Folksongs Are Your Friends at Making Light, including all of the comments. It's a top-five contender for the Best Blog Thread Evar. I promise, you'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll kiss three hours goodbye... :-)
