I'm bored, it's late, and my brain's not working well. Fortunately, my ears are, and so I've loaded up WinAmp with all the MP3s on the hard drive, randomized them, and culled those with the name in the first line of lyrics, or with no lyrics at all. As usual, Google is cheating. No sources this time, though as usual somewhere over half are live tracks, and several are in fact covers (so full credit for naming the author rather than the performer). I will note that this time around, the vast majority of these are mainstream, more or less well-known tracks. Don't ask me why; it's the mystery of the shuffle.

Yeah, yeah, we just want the lyrics already... )

This one is for the attorneys, and people who want to pass this along to attorneys they know.

Over at Firedoglake, looseheadprop posted about a speech by Mario Cuomo, with Cuomo advocating that attorneys in the US ought to take the example of their Pakistani brethren, and march in support of the US Constitution. Here's the result.

Steve Fox of the American Freedom Campaign has taken off from there, have organized and now have prepared a statement and call to action. I'm not an attorney; if I were, I'd sign on in a hot second. If you are, or know one you can show this to, please consider it. To make it easier for you to see, I've placed the entire text below.

This issue is still important, and not going away any time soon. The more voices -- especially those with some authority and expertise -- that speak out, the better. Thank you.

Saw this floating on my friendsfriends page, and couldn't resist. I have added the links and descriptions, which weren't in the original meme.

Band: Micropolis
Album: Amsterdam Diamond

Prog in the mold of Genesis, Marillion, and Renaissance, with touches of Steve Goodman, Mark Knopfler, and Phil Ochs, Micropolis proudly presents its debut album, Amsterdam Diamond. There has never been another album like it, and the band swears there never will be again. :-)

The album I've been waiting to make, all my life )
