I was listening to Steve Goodman's album No Big Surprise, disc 2 (live), on which is the famous Automotive / Dead Girl Songs medley, and simultaneously reading about Richard Thompson's song "1952 Vincent Black Lightning" -- specifically, about covers of it. And, yeah, there went Steve, in my head, kicking the song's butt from here to Illinois and back again.
I wish it had happened, and been recorded. It would've been AWESOME. But at least I have it on my internal soundtrack, now.
